The well-known round table was filled with plenty of knowledgeable personalities to debate the roles of libraries in today's digital and multicultural society. Significant representatives of the cultural and social life of Brno and the South Moravian Region were present. The mass discussion was conducted by the literary editor Olga Jeřábková. There was also a video greeting from Glòrie Perèz-Salmeròn, President of IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions).

The event took place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia in 1918 and in close association with the 100th anniversary of the publication of the First Library Act of 1919 as part of the RE: PUBLIKA festival and the accompanying program of the exhibition 100 YEARS 100 BOOKS.
